Shawnee County had an existing pool just outside of Topeka which was experiencing several maintenance issues and a dwindling attendance record. There was a desire within the surrounding community for a larger facility, and a replacement facility was planned within a larger master plan. The new outdoor pool featured a Viking theme with several slides, a large interactive play structure, lazy river, and many more features for patrons of all ages.
